Research Overview
Higher Geodesy (HG) is one of seven Research Units at the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation, Vienna University of Technology. The Research Unit HG focuses mainly on the following topics:
- Satellite Geodesy (GNSS, Navigation), chaired by Prof. Dr. Robert Weber
- Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI), chaired by Prof. Dr. Johannes Böhm
- New technologies (Ringlasers, ..)
Satellite Geodesy | Very Long Baseline Interferometry | New Technologies |
---|---|---|
GNSS (Galileo, PPP, ..) | Scheduling | Ringlaser |
Atmosphere (troposphere and ionosphere) | Raw data processing (correlation) | High performance computing |

Basis for the research is the development and maintenance of the Vienna VLBI and Satellite Software (VieVS) which is the umbrella for our software developments in VLBI, GNSS, etc.
