David Mayer started to study Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology in 2008 and finished his Bachelor's degree in 2012. In the course of his master studies he spent a year at the Hartebeesthoek Radio Astronomy Observatory, South Africa. Since November 2013, he is a student assistant at the Department of Geodesy and Geoinformation. One of his duties is the creation of schedules for the AuScope VLBI network on a regular basis. His primary fields of study are VLBI analysis and scheduling of VLBI observations.
