Austria and Australia on common sources

The deviation from ideally uniform and point-like radio sources (known as source structure effects) observed by VLBI is well known, but efficient strategies to correct for this effect still need to be developed. The Vienna University of Technology and the University of Tasmania now started joint investigations in this field. Using the Vienna VLBI Software (VieVS), structure effects and consequences on VLBI products will be studied by both groups. In the course of this collaboration, Prof. Böhm is invited as visiting scholar to Hobart next November/December.
